With only two weeks to go before the Art of the Networked Practice | Online Symposium, I would like to bring to your attention the NetArtizens Open Online Exhibition, hosted by 0P3NR3P0.net.
As a project of the Symposium, this online showcase of media art is an open invitation to artists during the month of March to submit their work to the 0P3NR3P0.net database, which compiles metadata and outputs an interface for exhibiting the work. Essentially, you have an alternative, artist-driven, networked exhibition space that bypasses the gallery, museum, curator, registrar, and digital librarian all in one fell swoop. In the 0P3NR3P0.net open medium, there are no gatekeepers, no filters, no restrictions: the artist is entirely responsible for their own contextualization and exhibition.
The NetArtizens Open Online Exhibition, organized by Furtherfield and the 0P3NR3P0.net creators Nick Briz and Joseph Chiocchi, has already attracted over 75 artists this month whose works are currently viewable online. I would like to invite everyone to explore the show.
