@ Christopher

The trip to the Human+ exhibit was an eye-opener and it also sparked questions that make us question the boundaries of humans and robots. Famous artists such as Stelarc, Neil Harbisson and even works of local polytechnic students were displayed in the exhibition and perhaps what is the most fascinating for me was the artwork that involved the lightbulb manufacturing Read more →

Robotics Project 2: Injured toy Bacteria

We decided to add a layer of character to the tapping leg to create something animated, funny and cute at the same time. We decided to make a injured bacteria which is supposedly ‘stabbed’.

This idea came to us when we finished coding and building and did not know how to style it. When we Read more →

Our Initial idea was to have a head to bang onto the wall/table just because it will be sadistic and funny to watch. So our basic idea was to use strings and wires with plates for the head to move in any direction like to swivel around as it adds to the eccentric aspect of our idea. We did lots Read more →

@ Hanna Andersson

The typebot project was a really fun project and it was good to start with something that was pretty straight on so that we could focus on how to program a servo motor and to get an idea of how the process works when constructing a robot. Since we both have a programming background we did not have much Read more →

The process

The above is our initial acrylic arm that join the main motor and the finger motor. When making this, we realise that the hole were too small and we decided to drill it into a M2 hole. This arm was also too short and we did a 3D printed version later to blend with the black coloured motors.
