ArtScience Museum visit
The trip to the Human+ exhibit was an eye-opener and it also sparked questions that make us question the boundaries of humans and robots. Famous artists such as Stelarc, Neil Harbisson and even works of local polytechnic students were displayed in the exhibition and perhaps what is the most fascinating for me was the artwork that involved the lightbulb manufacturing Read more →

Robotics Project 2: Injured toy Bacteria
We decided to add a layer of character to the tapping leg to create something animated, funny and cute at the same time. We decided to make a injured bacteria which is supposedly ‘stabbed’.
This idea came to us when we finished coding and building and did not know how to style it. When we Read more →
Robotics - Final Project Ideas Generations & Researches 1
For the final project for robotics, I decided that I want to do a solo project as to explore and learn more about the robotic aspect.
Categories that I am interested in:
Animatronics:
The use of Robotic Device to emulate human or animals, or to bring lifelike characteristic to inanimate object-
It integrates: Anatomy Robots Mechatronics Puppetry (research to be done: Karakuri Puppets)
Usually powered by: Pneumatics Hydralics Electrical Mechanical
And controlled by: Computer Human (teleoperation Read more →
Robotics - Class Assignment 2 : Come On Barbie. (SuHwee and ZiFeng)

Our Initial idea was to have a head to bang onto the wall/table just because it will be sadistic and funny to watch. So our basic idea was to use strings and wires with plates for the head to move in any direction like to swivel around as it adds to the eccentric aspect of our idea. We did lots Read more →
Final Project: Idealisation #01
After narrowing down from my sketches, I decided to work on Umbrella for the final project. Umbrella is something I felt has many interesting aspect, people use it to shelter themselves, using it as a walking stick or even a in a form of armer. With all stated, we can derive that umbrella provides us protection that makes us feel Read more →
Robotics Project Update #2: Sketch
Build Sketches
My idea is to make a robotic version of a tall boy, the inflatable. As my project requires a series of studies on the movement of the interactions between the springs and the motor, I decided to have 3 prototype to experiment with the visual movements of each the the individual set up.
The Left (Teal)
In this set up, Read more →
Injured Toy Idea Update By: Bao and Issac
Initial Sketch and Concept
This project is an exploration of the movements of a man tapping his feet. With different pace of the tapping, we could see the emotional states that he is in while waiting. The movement of his head also shows his purpose of waiting, is he shady? waiting for his friends? or just waiting for a taxi Read more →
Typebot by Hanna and Jonas
The typebot project was a really fun project and it was good to start with something that was pretty straight on so that we could focus on how to program a servo motor and to get an idea of how the process works when constructing a robot. Since we both have a programming background we did not have much Read more →

The process
The above is our initial acrylic arm that join the main motor and the finger motor. When making this, we realise that the hole were too small and we decided to drill it into a M2 hole. This arm was also too short and we did a 3D printed version later to blend with the black coloured motors.
