Export

For exporting your video files, Premiere and After Effects provide a range of options, depending if you would like to compress your files for internet, play them from desktop or media player or keep them in the best lossless quality for further editing and archiving. In Premiere, you export your files as Media:
screen-shot-2015-11-11-at-12-19-39-pm

Then choose the compression format.
– H.264 is currently a good compression for internet and offline.
– HEVC is even better but is not yet supported by many players
– Choose TIFF for Image Sequences
– QuickTime offers more settings for high quality and almost lossless compression such as Apple ProRes. Best if you continue editing the exported files.

Make sure to keep the original format of your video. It will be in most cases 1920×1080 p (progressive). 25 fps.

Check the bitrate and ‘Estimated File Size’. It can be adjusted like in a JPG file. Higher bitrate – better quality – bigger filesize.

KEEP your original files!
