After the critique session on my first design, I adjusted the following:

Decrease in point size of text Change my arts and health full panel photo to just the logo and text itself Change the background colour on the inside page of the brochure Rearrange and add more elements to fill in some empty spaces and to ‘frame’ the text and photos

Folding design

After looking at my reference brochure, I decided to try out a few folds. The first fold was the strike through effect. The main idea was to place images at the position of the ‘strike’ so as to show parts of the image on the outside and entice viewers to look at the brochure. However, when I Read more →

@ Catastrophe.

Initially I wanted to do a dye-cut of the pinball machine, a continuation of my design for the poster but after feedback and much consideration, I decided that a dye-cut might not be necessary as it would be harder to determine the folds of my design.

Task 1. Existing brochure designs x3

Existing Brochure Design:

Design 1: Simple paper cut and folds are used to achieve interesting pop-up effect.

Design 2: This piece is interesting as it transforms conventional A4 sheet using simple folding technique.

Design 3: Contents are divided through the smart use of colours.

Through these quick references, I wanted to design my brochure by incorporating the use of folding and colours to separate the contents.

After getting the feedback:

I decided to place my elephant on both sides which mean when viewers open the brochure, they can see an elephant. When they close it, they also can see an elephant at the back of the brochure. I placed the piano keyboard on both sides (inside and back of the brochure) to make it looks like fluently. Read more →

@ ta0025ee

I chose my mock up 3 and modified the brochure design.

I arranged the elephant on one side. When viewers open it, they can see an elephant. I did a die cut to see the hot air balloon which is located at the inside of the brochure.
