We redesigned the frame such that the syringes would be at the side and the ‘fleas’ would sit in the middle of the model. This way, it’s easier to operate the mechanism with swiping motions of the arms.

‘ALTERNATING TRIPOD’ SYSTEM
I built my sketch models based off prior research about an ant’s movement, where they walk with alternating legs.

For the vampire bat prototype, I decided to focus on the bat’s wings, since it is very much different from the wings of birds. Yet, it is similar to the human hands, but with web, forming the wings. What I brought forward to this project is the hinge mechanism from Project 2: Kokopelli!
