As we discussed last week during consultation, we have combined the candy furniture with the patterned rubber mulch flooring to create a fun and vibrant space for public gatherings. Additionally, this space and furniture is thoughtfully and deliberately designed according to the proxemics matrics to enhance the comfort level of the users who gather here, alone or in groups.
We bought 100 aluminium rods with varying lengths for our mockup. We are in the midst of drilling holes in the rods for the wire to be glued on. The rods will be sanded and spray painted with different colours according to the colours of the buildings on the official NTU map.
We will be cutting a ply wood Read more →
The mind map shows our thought process and how we see the NTU. We found that the two major aspects of a university is the students and the faculties. Thus, we decided to the find a connection between the two which is the social networking amongst students through the different faculties. We Read more →

feedback from last week:angles and proportions need to be justified and measured properly think more specifically about the choice of material
optimal viewing distance: 5 metres
proposal 1 is true to size and accurately depicts the distorted perspective. we found the proportions to be too jarring, so we tried to minimise the angle in the next Read more →
In the final revision, we decided to arrange the seats according to the spiral Fibonacci sequence ratio. Clusters of seats will be loosely dispersed around the space to allow individual groups of 2, 3 and 5 to gather within the space at a comfortable distance.
Fibonacci circular pattern sequence will demarcate the floor tiles to Read more →
This week we came up with more renderings as well as focusing our time on fabricating the mock-up.
Here are some images of the improved renderings:
We also re-edited the infographics using more realistic images:
After doing up the renderings, we spent the rest of Read more →
This week we made some changes to the shape of the joint as well as the concavity of the bone where the joint would be connected at.
As you can tell we made the shape of the joint rounder and the area where the joint will be connected to the bone was also made rounder to fit the joint. This design Read more →
