@ /kaywerlyn

Hello.

After discussions with Fabrizio and Ker Siang we decided to create a joint that fits the form of the bones and at the same time act as a pivot to rotate each bone. We realised that with a fixed position and shape of the spine it will be a problem if the sculpture were to move places, and with some Read more →

@ Yay cake.

From last week’s consultation we started exploring how we could arrange the furniture so that they would make sense together and apart. We also thought of the location and how these sculptural furniture pieces could be contextualized in the space through the application of different materials

Our chosen location is this corner surrounded by lush foliage Read more →

feedback from last week:

many of the structures proposed the previous weeks were too complex and dominates over the shadows i.e. viewers focus on the form rather than the shadows keep the structure of the installation simple use a combination of opaque and translucent material instead of only translucent to show more contrast

Yaaayu

Wednesday, Apr 04, 2018 - 11:51:25 pm

@ Yaaayu's

Last week’s comments

1) There was something missing from the whole composition that caused the whole installation to not gel together as one.

2) We have quite a few elements to work with so it is about refining the arrangement of these elements.

3) Comments were to work with any theories that would justify our arrangement.

This week:

1) We have decided to change Read more →

Form exploration II Fiona x Shanelle

Last week,

Feedback gathered last week:

Scales are way too small and doesn’t resemble how Pangolin scales are arranged. Scale it up and arrange it to look more like a Pangolin, not a fish. Bench/tail area is way too flat, redesign it such that it has more volume. Modules does not necessarily needs to vary in size/fully Read more →

One of the biggest concerns for our installation is how the whole system operates and how to ensure safety of the passengers . We came up with the concept of locking the boat in place at the platform when passengers are embarking and disembarking by stopping the pulley system. There are two buttons used, one on the platform and Read more →

@ Rachel Fong

After consultation last week, we decided to subtly increase the radius of the edge of the chair and its curve according to its increasing height.

Also, we experimented on a few organic forms of the joint.

Joints of different width

Trying out different curves at midpoint of joint

However, after many attempts of experimenting we feel that Read more →

@ Oxhrene

Last Week

On Week 10, we have presented three variation in different material combinations.

We have decided to use wood and metal as the material for the construction of the installation as it seems like the most economic, sustainable and feasible choice of building material out of the other two (Concrete and Polycarbonate).

The following illustration depicts our chosen conceptual form and interaction for our Read more →
