After another 30 hours of work I finally finished the Magazine Cover for Varoom.

Why are all my assignments kind of pinkish so far?

Finally, I finished my second assignment YAY! I’m so happy it turned out great and more than what I expected. I learned a lot from this project :DD.

The theme I chose is ‘obsession’ and I went to the 50s cartoon direction. As you can see, it’s about the obesity because of junk food.

An illustration on obsessive love disorder. A person who obsessively loves may engage in escalating tools of psychological control, or other forms of control, in an effort to keep their love object close. In turn, the object of obsessive love may have difficulty setting clear limits and boundaries on the obsessive behaviours.

 After some discussion in class, I decided to pick the orange masthead because it adds to the whimsicality of the piece. Also I think it would vibe better with the tastes of my user persona 🙂

I forgot to remove the varoom title from the original illustration so I’ll do that eventually. I like the illustration itself, but I think it looks a bit silly as a magazine cover. If I were to spend more time on it, I would pull the dimensions out so they filled the space better on the page. I’m Read more →
