@ Look alive, sunshine

Where we are now and where we were in the beginning of the sem are pretty different from what we planned.  But that’s probably the whole point.

The initial idea was the use of C4D but we had to be pragmatic about it so we switched to After Effects instead, with the help of Trapcode Particular.

Jellyfish, by Eduardo and Nasya

Initially, I had the idea of using a chrysalis to represent the theme for passing. My initial reasonings and ideas can be found in my slides here!

After talking with Eduardo, I realised that the idea of a chrysalis is way too literal. Eduardo offered a compelling suggestion: the famous immortal jellyfish!

We decided to work with our strengths in illustration and motion graphics and tried rethinking the direction of our project. We Read more →

like your new idea! please look into works of Chris Burden and his Metropolis II (2010) a complex, large-scale kinetic sculpture..you could use it for inspiration to make the city background a bit more dense..might be a lot of work but you could possibly have same scene just change in light; this is just an idea- you do not need to follow if you have plotted your roughs already. :) looking forward to next week progress.

 “Connection”

The given theme was “Music”  thus our art direction was influenced by it.

Music to us was a form of connection that is made up by rhythm and therefore we wanted the audience to be able to enjoy music by creating a flow which syncs with their visual senses.

Playing with lines, speed and light. We were able to compose a silent Read more →

Early ideas and layouts

After the first test, we found that the colour scheme is too bright. It might distract the audiences when it comes to the big screen. So, we decide to shift the background to dark red.

The Second Update

According to the feedback, we added more details to the face, hence made Read more →

CELESTIAL BODIES

How Sounds In Space Came About

Celestial Bodies is a project inspired by sounds in space. Because space is a vacuum, sound cannot travel the way it usually does on Earth to reach our ears.

However, even in outer space, sound does exist as electromagnetic vibrations. NASA uses special instruments that detect Read more →

@ BENJI

The Last Song Syndrome usually refers to an earworm, or sometimes known as a brainworm, sticky music, stuck song syndrome.

It is best described as an Involuntary Musical Imagery (INMI) which is a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person’s mind after it is no longer playing.

Some examples of such music are We Will Rock You (1977) by Queen, Never Gonna Give Read more →
