Keywork Selection/ Lit Tree
Following the artist selection, the work that I will be further elaborating on in my hyper essay is Kimchi and Chip’s Lit Tree. An installation made in 2011 , Lit Tree is a light projection piece that makes use of a tree as its canvas. It explores on the concept of Interactivity where there is a perceptual conversation between the Read more →
Key Work Selection: Footfalls
Out of all of Levin’s works, one that I was particularly interested in was his work entitled Footfalls:
Commissioned in July 2016 by the NTT InterCommunicationsCenter (ICC), Tokyo, Footfalls is an installation done in collaboration with Levin and Zachary Liberman. This interactive audiovisual installation sees visitors stomping their feet to create the falling avalanche of bouncy visual forms (eg. balls), seen Read more →

Key Work Selection: Karen by Blast Theory

Key Work Selection, and relations to Hypermedia
While The Unseen dabbles in various things, I chose the key work based on what I believed 1) was related to fashion, and only fashion, design, 2) had the potential to be “normalised” as an integral part of design, and 3) had some form of official recognition.
Thus, the Eighthsense collection.

Hyperessay Key Work selection: Pull
My hyperessay will revolve around one of Mona Hatoum’s works, Pull(1995). Viewers are required to interact with her(in this case, a braided ponytail attached to her own hair) in order to get a live reaction on screen. The ponytail is made from Hatoum’s own hair, collected over 6 years. It is interesting how technology is used as a ‘screen’ between her Read more →
