Concept

Our concept is greatly influenced by the kind of terrain that was on the Silk Road. The main terrains includes desert, mountainous region and ocean.

Choice of Colour

We chose to work with black, gold and silver to match with our Silk Road theme and the architecture of Elphi. The tones that we are working on as more muted, which are generally calming Read more →

Dear Jia Ying, please consult with your team- if they can identify what each of you contributed to the project - as i need to start grading on the process.   You can upload me in person! on Tuesday However before the class ends ( week 14) i need to see each member contribution. The upload can be done separately or by one member - but it needs to identify contributions.

working title: ART OF TRAVERSE / inkverse /

This piece elaborates on travelling along the Silk Road and the amazing scenery there is to offer. It will show the China to Middle East side of Silk Road through landscape sceneries. Wanting to use a technique that is unique to China, I chose to illustrate the sceneries with ink and wash painting, which Read more →

@ Amadea Low

This post will be sharing my ideas and stills for my first idea. This came about because of the prominent blues that occur throughout the silk road and is a symbol for many different things ranging from it being Timurid’s favourite colour to a symbol representing death.

It also represents water and thus I want to link it to abstract ways Read more →

Unravel

The Silk Road, as its name suggests, was a major set of trade routes revolving around the commerce of silk. It stretches from Europe all the way to Asia, bridging the East and West for the very first time.

While the decomposition was a reminder that such luster were not meant for commoners. The fabric selected were thus, chosen from cultures Read more →

Make sure to include in your POST here names and sources of fabrics. Since this is public platform we need to cite the source :) I have received your files with thanks for testing on media wall today ( Tue 8th) Kind regards Ina

@ Shadow

After watching a visual effect shot in Prince of Persia: Sands of time, shared by my groupmate, Ayesha, I was heavily inspired to make my own cool visual effect as well. I decided to start by learning a tool called VFX Graph (within Unity). This is different from the Particle System previously used for sand simulations. I wanted to see Read more →

@ Shadow

This post details the breakdown of how we achieve this result and the tricks discovered along the way to create particle physics simulations:

Above is a showcase of our custom-made interactive application where I am dragging our sand emitter around the screen with my mouse cursor. Sand is emitted and continue to fall, bouncing off objects. We manage to achieve and Read more →
