@ 風鳴る翼

Finally, after weeks of conceptualising and designing and drawing, my final ego up on the line!

Bird + Japan = Me

Straightforwardness – Restrictions = Freedom

Determined x Delibrate/not giving up = Bamboo, a symbol of ultimate resistance

Planting my dream (letting the seedling grow) + Preserverance (enduring the harsh winter) = Full bloom (thats when i can bloom finally and shine)

@ 風鳴る翼

Finally, feeling inspired, i started drafting on how i want the boxes should be.

This was the very first idea i have for ____+____=me.

Japan + birds would be me. What i wanted to do here was having the designs on each of the tangram , which will make up the final me.

I had problems with expressing myself hence the many Read more →

EGO -// Colors colors colors

Eugene

Monday, Nov 23, 2015 - 12:44:39 am

@ Lemons

Finally, we head on to the last project of 2D for this semester!

And, we’re working on colors. Honestly, I’m really bad at working with colors for any sort, and I always end up leaving my works just in black and white.

So this time round, in a way I had less of a choice, but Read more →

@ nathalie_nathalie

What makes up our ego to feel better about ourselves, may not always be the best. Yet, an ego boost is often what we tend to seek for or find comfort from.

For this final project, I wanted to do more hands-on work and experiment with different materials, to show the equation of my ego through makeup. I realized that the Read more →

@ 風鳴る翼

As mentioned in the previous post, I wanted to go into japanese designs but I dont really have a clear idea of which aspect about japanese design i wanted to go into. I decided to go to the library to get some inspirations and references. These are some interesting books that i have found.

Really thankful for this book with the Read more →

EGO - PROCESS II

Caroline Ching

Sunday, Nov 22, 2015 - 11:38:27 pm

@ Caroline Ching

Making Process:

I did all my compositions on cut-out 20cm by 20cm drawing paper and pasted them on cut out 21cm by 21cm black paper as the border.

The drawings were first done in pencil outlines.

Later, I filled them in with pen and ink.

And lastly, colour the compositions with water colour paint.

@ Caroline Ching

When this new EGO last assignment was given to us, I kept thinking about what to do with the 12 compositions that had to be submitted.

Me — Better Me — Ideal Me — Me in 5 Years, these questions here were not easy to answer for many of us. But i’m glad that this project did not only helped us better know one Read more →

Project 3: Ego

Gekkie

Sunday, Nov 22, 2015 - 10:32:43 pm

@ 風鳴る翼

To be honest, i was totally scared when i know that we are going to do this project.. Ego. meaning self-discovery, showing the others who I am. I have never really thought much about myself, and i felt that i am bad at expressing those ideas. After studying the references, i thought of doing the very literal narrative version of Read more →
