@ C I N D Y

As I was brainstorming on my final project – ‘Plastic Waste’, I wanted to find a way to reduce the amount of cooling fans used.

Therefore, I came up with this idea of attaching a vacuum to one of the end of the pair of fans. And through that vacuum, I connected a 3 long tubes with a warp connecting them Read more →

Angel

Tuesday, Mar 29, 2016 - 02:24:59 am

@ Real life

An update on sensorium:

I am currently adding more rafia strings to make the space more immersive and planning to buy trash bags to make it more dark.

For the digital output:

I plan to use two different arduinos, each with 120 LEDs connected to it, so in total there will be 240.

The two arduinos will be producing lights at two different frequencies. Read more →

Analog sensorium concept and documentation

Angel

Tuesday, Mar 29, 2016 - 01:54:14 am

@ Real life

For the analog, I wanted to create a dome which you can put your head inside to experience a light show with this concept of play.

My inspiration came from Liminal Air -Descend-, Shinji Ohmaki(b.1971, Japan) which I have tried the installation for myself in 2015 in korea.

I wanted to create a space where people can be fully Read more →

@ Real life

“Diminished reality is a term used to describe the control over one’s reality and the ability to block out real or digital information at will. The term was coined by wearable computing pioneer Steve Mann to describe a reality that can remove, at will, certain undesired aspects of regular reality.” –Cyborg Anthropology

This week I  managed to create a tone generator that I can trigger with my keyboard.

The logic of it is fairly simple and I used Bead library for Processing to create this program.

The next step is to hook this up with an analog system so that I can create sounds and trigger it based on the balloons .

Paper Boats.

Here’s a documentation of my analog interactive space! A mistake on my part to not have anticipated the rain, and only water proofing the bottoms and not the top. But none the less, thankfully I have enough¬†footage (thanks Kamarul!) to be put together into a video.

Instead of the initial idea of having a huge boat that was able to Read more →

The waste of plastic

@ C I N D Y

So here’s my documentation of Interactive Spaces’ Installation –

‘The waste of plastic’.

I ended up following through the idea of plastic waste, which I spent the entire recess week searching for used & smelly plastic bags from wet markets. I chose wet markets over supermarkets because of what I observed –

Buyers from wet markets often use more than 1 plastic, to Read more →

@ KENDRA+MELTZER

The life tunnel is an interactive performance installation. The art piece consists of 11 large pieces of hanging paper, each paper containing its own unique rip in the center. A clear wire hangs them so they give the illusion of floating. Life Tunnel is a reflection of our lives, going through the tunnel the audience must adjust their bodies in Read more →

@ Naming is Quite a Pain

Hello guys!! It’s been a while, probably a week since I updated OSS. I have a huge problem with documentation, they are quite a pain but I will set aside some time to do it this week. Hopefully. Anyway, I was thinking of how to advance from the analog installation that I had done.

This is my first “installation” and also Read more →
