@ Naming is Quite a Pain

I was thinking of the perception of private space. It can be man fencing up a certain area and claiming that it theirs now, that we have names on doors and then the space is mine, that what is actually a neutral public area has turned private. I’ll make an attempt on toilets because it is universal. My inspiration partly derived from the dormitories’ Read more →

Exchanging minds

@ Ting Chou

This analogue device allows you to experience a stronger acoustic when the vision is shut. When one’s is unable to see, other senses will become the substitutes.

I want to make something that makes us “feel” more but not perceive the things by seeing and observing it.

Similarly, when you are missing someone, you would tend to think about this question, “are Read more →

@ KENDRA+MELTZER

The task for this assignment was to create a work that altered ones senses. The first sense that came to my mind was sight, and paired it with perception. The piece was placed on the audiences head, it contains 100 paper filters that consist of different texture, opacity and length.

The idea was that in life we see life through fragmented screens, Read more →

For my project I decided to create a device that involves refraction and also light to distort the viewers sense of sight.

I decided to use some reflectors in the box to make the light bounce off the walls of it making it a bit more immersive. I also decided to not only use light but strobe lights to make it Read more →

In this video, I attempted to create a “prison” using Unity’s SDK for android.

My concept for this project is to explore the narrative of space. What can certain space tells us? How does it make us feel?

By adding a new dimension to a space, the virtual dimension, can we enhance the quality of a space?

Inside a prison because the room itself Read more →

Experimenting with fans and paper to create different types of sound.

Nice job with the testing! Its everybodys fantasy to stick something or someone to see what kind of sound it will make. No? Maybe its just us! Anyway, when you were doing this, I immediately thought of a performance art kind of interaction. You can make diff sound by using different objects, plus you can make some noise with your mouth by singing towards the fan, you know the 'autotune' kind of noise we all make when we were young. I look forward to more of your fans. Ten thousand of them!

What I love about this artwork is how it uses the data and the space and convert it into sound.

It creates a soundscape that makes us listen to the gallery’s data.

However what makes me even more intrigued is the way the speakers are arranged. The speakers  are places in different planes and on different height. A Read more →
