Analog installation ideas
These are some of the reference artists whose work really interest me.
I love how they use everyday materials to distort and change the space.
Firstly, Grzymala used 5 km of black tape to change the space. It has this quality that makes me feel as if the tape is alive.
She is also pretty consistent with her work and Read more →
Final: The Aquarium Experiment

And so, I have come up with a new idea that got inspired from my draft idea – ‘Fish tank Goggles’.
I wanted to do more than just a goggles with fish tank stuck on it. So I thought, why not try to feel that I am inside an Aquarium instead?
In this final construction, I decided to do more by combining Read more →

Draft idea 2/3: Kaleidoscope/ Periscope

Since young, I was intrigued by mirrors and different patterns. I remembered when my parents bought me a Kaleidoscope in my early years and I played with it for hours, thinking how was the Kaleidoscope made.
This project gave me a chance to explore and build stuff to alter our physical senses. Both Kaleidoscope and Periscope could do that, but I Read more →
Draft idea 1: Fish tank goggles

In week 4 of Interactive Spaces class, we were tasked to come out with devices that can alter our physical senses.
My first instinct was to create something that have to do with the sense of sight among all the 5 senses. I got inspired by some of the examples of ‘See yourself sensing’ book by Madeline Schwartzman.
My first idea: Fish tank googles
The One With The Final Construction

Today on the 2nd of February 2016, week 4 of the second semester, we showed our assignment of changing one’s perception by making a device or some sort. The One With The Yellow Helmet

So here it is, I’ve completed the construction of my helmet and I will titled this piece ‘The Head’. Actually I haven’t made up my mind yet.
As I get my material which is the helmet, i tried to get the shape together by trying out different combination. Taping it together by masking tape, I tried to get Read more →
Show me the money

The artwork aims to make a statement on the irony of motivation.
Many of us have experienced this before. We are obsessed with this idea of achieving something that we tunnel vision. In the midst of this rat race, we lose sight of what around us.
I think this idea can be pushed even more. Is it just money Read more →
Seeing with refraction

My initial was to create a kind of ‘goggles’ that allow one to see through water or a device that can experience lag as I realised that I have the app in my phone that allows me to do that.
However, I realised that the first idea was too flat and the second one was way to easy for me to Read more →
The One With The Interactive Space Analog Idea

I started thinking about the analog interactive space installation as soon as the assignment was told to us during class. This was my first initial idea. Using Multi plug as the main object, I want to multiply them to lay out to form a pattern or a shape. Take a look at my sketchbook below for my reasoning and concept.

So the anticipating trailer for my first assignment for Interactive Spaces is here. Not finally here but it’s here.
Again just to share about my project. The perception of a safety helmet is to project your head while one is working on a construction place. Now, I made a helmet which does not allow one to see but I would argue Read more →
