PILLOWTALK: HEARBEAT PUMPING PILLOW

The idea is basically putting a band strapping around your chest and cuddling a glowing pillow with a heartbeat that matches or sync to his/her lover’s heartbeats.

Baidu Kuaisou - Smart chopsticks

Baidu Kuaisou is a set of smart chopsticks that can detect if food is contaminated. By pairing the chopsticks with a phone/computer you can get information about the oil in the food, if it’s good or bad. There is also a light on each chopstick that flash in different colors depending on the results.

The Necomimi is a wearable device which senses the user’s brainwaves and reacts accordingly. The neko (cat)’s ears, at the top of the band wiggles and changes direction in accordance to the brainwaves sensed.

A mini project, where the appearance of the cat is voice-activated. Should the sensor sense a louder volume (input) above a certain threshold, the box lid will open up, revealing the little cardboard kitty (output).

The kitty’s appearance was aided by servo-motors, activated by a Phidget Interface Kit.

Lazy Scratcher was done with the use of a phidget and software – Max7 MSP. Trying out the possibility of scratching just by a soft (or hard) press of a button to get the satisfaction of a scratch…without really scratching.
