Intro

I have a passion for pixel art, it’s like drawing with light. There are so many different styles of it and so many applications. Pixels are pixels and they will look the same always clean and crunchy. Pixel art will stand the test of time unlike other 3D games where a wonderful game is overlooked due Read more →

Perusing the Processing Plant

Intro

To submit control of your body to a robot is a very unsettling thought. Professor Louis-Philippe Demers probes into this area of thought, with works such as “Inferno” to explore the reactions and interactions of man and machine.

Budget control, to create such works with robotics must have been rather Read more →

Pair Project

(sync dinner)

For the pair project, I am thinking to create an interactive restaurant that for long distance couples/families/friends to make them to feel like sitting right opposite each other, having real dinner closely with each other.

Individual Project

For individual project, I would like to make it “out of boundaries”. I would like Read more →

Pair: is it a augmented reality situation? that involves communicating smell, taste, etc over Internet? I think this is very cutting edge research, interesting.

@ K W

Louis-Philippe Demers’s robotics works are awesomeness! The work that really caught my attention is the human-robot interaction,  ‘The Blind Robot’.  What conclusions did you reach(intellectual, emotional or physical)?

Nowadays, HRI is pretty restricted where companies, e.g manufactures, employing robots not letting humans and robots share the same workspace at any time. Typically sensors and/or physical cages is used by defining safe zones. How Read more →

Large Scale Artist Playground Project

A 2 person project about managing an artistic theme park. Similar to Banksy’s Dismaland. A combination of art of different mediums turn interactive. The theme can revolve around many topics, but I would be interested about the past, present and future. The concept of time, (or something else). I figured this Read more →

@ Artefactually Lost

I’m particularly intrigued with the projects “Prayer Drums” and “Wind Tunnel” that Prof. Louis-Philippe Demers had made. They are both Interactive Architecture which I feel could be implemented easily with minimal costs. Upon closer inspection, I’ve also realised that you’ve collaborated with Armin Purkrabek and Phillip Schulze not only for the before-mentioned projects, but for “The Sonic Bugs”, “Embedded Scenography” & Read more →

For processing plant

@ chen0907

Professor Louis-Philippe Demers’s works are really pretty cool. Almost many of the projects and works are enormous performance which requires lots of time, budgets, labour, planning and so on. What I am most curious about is the time management. Since for the recent works, such as Inferno was just showcased in 2015, then another huge project Calendar is coming up Read more →

Pitches:

Individual: I would like to make a  story-heavy 2.5D pixel role-playing game (RPG) in the horror genre, with escapism as a central theme.

Pair: Install a customizable recognition system into all school dormitories that will welcome you home in a voice of your choice (sexy girl, black dude, or John Cena. Or Tom Hiddleston, if that floats  your boat).

@ Real life

One of the biggest question that I have for LPD is :

Where did he get the funding or how does he fund his projects?

I see that in his work, ” Inferno”, he deals  with many robots and the work seems like a high budgeted performance, so naturally this idea of budget would come up.
