“I had a dream last night. I was dancing the White Swan.”.

-Black Swan(2010)

These are what I picked out when I was searching for visuals relating to the quote:

Dreams, sleeping, swans, and girls dancing, ballerinas.

Eventually I came up with these compositions…

After asking Ms Ina what she thought about those, I decided to just choose one out of these. I think they’re Read more →

@ Wabi Sabi

Hello here are my final compositions for this assignment. The movie I selected is Princess Mononoke from Studio Ghibli.

“The trees cry out as they die, but you cannot hear them”- Princess Mononoke (1997)

The quotes are so abstract but you got the feeling right in the images. Liking the Oriental vibe.

Hi all! The images below are my final compositions for this assignment. If you are interested to see the work in progress please refer to the link below:

Forrest Gump Part 1: One Movie with 4 Quotes Forrest Gump Part 2: Image References and Design Processes

The aesthetics and vibes your selection gives off is so dark but I like. It feels like you created a modern Pocahontas. I think my fave is the one you use for your profile pic now. It's intense and really focuses the meaning of the quote

Hi there, It’s been awhile! I finally came up with some designs for the 4 movie quotes from Pocahontas. If you guys haven’t checked out Forrest Gump Pt 1 (click here), you should! It’ll give you a rough idea why I choose to interpret the quotes this way.

Artist Reference

All my work were greatly influenced by Jheronimus Bosch (1450 – 9 August 1516), an Early Netherlandish painter who is known for Read more →

Two of my quotes are from the movie Mean Girls.

“Do you know why her hair is so big? It’s because its full of secrets.”

“So you agree? You think you really are pretty?”

Here are my final prints accompanied by some examples of the images that I threshold to attain my final print.  Enjoy!

So I have been working on my compositions for my movie “MAD MAX:FURY ROAD“. It was a little challenging at first because it was difficult trying to find good quality, undistorted pictures of Egyptian art online. I did manage to find a few but they weren’t enough. So I decided to look into ancient Egyptian artifacts too.

The image below was Read more →

MAD MAX IS SO GOOD. All the quotes you have leave so much to the imagination but you really managed to create a cohesive theme for it, especially with all the egyptian art! I really like the symbolism in "I live, I die. I live again"
WITNESSS MEE! Hahahah! Yeah~ Mad max is soooo good! Thanks bruh. Really appreciate it:)

@ Lazybug's Anatomy

The movie that I have chosen is Howl’s moving castle.

The movie quotes are:

You’re wearing that hat? After all the magic I used to make your dress pretty? I don’t cook! I’m a scary and powerful fire demon! I’m delirious, spots are crawling up before my eyes.

You’re wearing that hat? After all the magic I used to make your dress pretty?

Great! Minor suggestions to consider! The fire in the third image can be also a bit below the chair - maybe touching her feet as now it is separated from the scene ... The scull in the last image can also float in a bubble...:) please include movie name after the quote- you can refer to my post to class on the naming protocol

@ Just around the Riverbend

Hello everyone!

The movie I chose was Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited Away” by Hayao Miyazaki! This was the second Ghibli film I watched (the first being Totoro), and it really left an impact on me because the animation was beautiful and it had an extremely meaningful storyline. Till now I still remember some of the lines by the characters! Anyhow, the quotes I chose Read more →

I love the choice of the movie..1) 1st Image: - the circle still does not look like an eye> you might need outline of the eye with eye lids and lashes and not only iris..You were right the hanging bridge looks great! better than the classic 'london' bridge kind.. 2) 2nd Image: -the girl out of the frame is the best 3) 3rd Image: -the big clock surrounding the flower is the best - 3rd from the top? If you want to include variation of the same image maybe you put them into one table. 4) 4th Image: -my favorite is still the bore face surrounded with plates. You can use both for media wall.. Please refer to my earlier post on the final formatting and include name of the film at the end of your quote:) In regards to the upload on OSS- It would be good to include the border to each image- so we can identify the square format of your composition as the OSS white background is interfering with your images and it is hard to see what is the image and what the screen background . Let me know if you r in class tomorrow?

Silkscreening Tote Bag

@ Glojira

I was really excited for this because I have never tried silkscreening before. I didn’t know the process would be so long and tedious but it was all so fun and interesting.

This is the design that I chose to silkscreen onto my bag and the quote is “Witness Me”.

I did the silkscreen multiple times on paper. The first time I Read more →
