Reinterpreting the Brief

I took some time to really look through and understand the brief. But I felt that I kept coming short of the objective of the brief. This was mainly due to limits and constraints placed on the points of view. One of the only things that I felt sure about was the execution and creative direction that I wanted to undertake Read more →
POV: Research

When I first got to know about this project, I wanted to talk about K-Pop idols. They may seem very glamorous and perfect on the outside but is that really what is happening behind the scenes?
There are many articles online that show the ugly side of being a K-Pop idol. It is a very Read more →
Point Of View Research

For this project, I have referenced from two artists. The first would be Alex Konahin. I particularly liked how the artist used flora and fauna to compose an insect and I think that the technique used is very detailed and hence I wished to replicate the same idea for my work.

To get myself started, I did a research on textile children’s books.

Prof Ina suggested that i may want to take a look at Edgar Allan Poe’s poem on Raven. And here is a wonderful site i have found that summarized and deciphered his poem.

POV: Synecdoche

“There’s another term of negative space. What is it?”
So there is another term of “playing with negative space” which is called synecdoche.
Or another example, using collage…
From the previous collage trial, Prof re-introduced me to synecdoche and I did a few research before proceeding to the next phase of trying to incorporate synecdoche Read more →
