Digital and Full Final Side by side:

My Name is..

And I am an Ailurophile.

My Name is..

And I am a Nyctophile.

My name is..

And I am Quintessence.

My Name is..

And I am possibilities.

excellent works! please consider for make-up of this OSS page archive: - delete very top out of focus photo from the 2D wall installation in adm corridor- no need for that image as the bellow images are much better! -include one sentence that will summarize your project -include Caption or Title for each image: "My name is... and I am..."
also please use better high res image for your featured image:) original digital file would be better than photo taken in 2d area

@ UMMI

Below are the 4 final A5 and its description. These 4 pieces are book pages (torn from long kept novels) that was drawn on, some painted on, then scanned in, edited and layered scanned monoprints to get these overlaying effects. My typography in all these 4 final pieces are the initial of my name, U.

“MY NAME IS…”

Ummi EXCELLENT works! I would choose the image from the earlier post for your final image on this page - it shows as a collection of all of your images..The current image from the wall in 2d is too small ..it is hard to link image and corresponding caption ( My name is... and I am..).. Please let's talk in class ...Alos Title of the page should be Typographic Portrait Final..
Please use digital file as the featured image and not photo from 2d area :) it will look better

Brainstorming on my sketchbook

Using tribal patterns with my name hidden in it to form the peacock’s tail.

Your images have the ability to convey your ideas nicely! Your hard copy journal is nicely presenting your progress. OSS soft copy document on process could be improved in future: Consider minor edits for this OSS page: - increase size of your thumbnails- they are too small - when I click on them they are not rotated properly - how about using high-resolution scan or photo that could be re-edited further - marbling can be edit and improved using simple digital techniques - all of the images could be redited for your ZINE...More on that in class
One more recommendation: please include for each of your posts one image as a high res feature image...

Really liked the effect that paper marbling produces

Collecting as much as possible of background information is really important ..as a designer you need to start making 'ideas boards'- bank of images or references from other books, magazines- this is very important for ideation process . all the information is then fed into your process...and final! Do not forget to upload images of your final works!

@ JULIANA

For my research, I came across 3 artists which I drew my inspiration from. The first one was Sean Williams. He used words to form an image of a person which I thought was quite creative and apt for this project.

The second artist I referred to was Fran Efless. I thought it would Read more →

Pursuing Optical Art

@ Kapilan Naidu

After making up my mind to create the design in the style of Optical Art, I carried out some research to look at artists that have come before me. I was paying attention to the black & white, figure-ground relationship in the compositions and looking at how I may incorporate typography into them. Here are some of the works that Read more →

Beginning Work

@ Kapilan Naidu

Upon looking at the brief, I was rather lost at the beginning. I am usually not the kind of person to create a series of works based on just myself. I usually like creating pieces that involve my views and interactions with a particular subject matter. So when the brief called for the limelight to be placed on me, I Read more →

@ 風鳴る翼

As i wanted to go with the theme of nature, after branches, the next element that came to my mind is water. Initially, i was wondering how should i make water interesting when it is just water?

Before:

I found really good references of water cut outs on pinterest. It reminded me that water could contain so many things! Fishes, seaweed, bubbles, Read more →

@ Eureka!

After gathering all the research, I have embarked on creating the first designs for the project.

The first design I created was this, I wanted it to have a flowing sensation like a waterfall. Extending out of the A5 paper. I took inspiration from a lamp, which is on the right.

After consultation I realise that this idea could Read more →

WE can see the evolution of your ideas. Paper folding did add originality and element of surprise! It would be good to have better record for this page -please make thumbnail images bigger. It will be easier to get the message...it is easy for me as i am familiar with your works...but not for audience across foundation ( there is an option in OSS how big you want your image to be- is set to thumbnail it will not go bigger) Pay attention to a quality of the images that are taken by phone -edit them ( glare..etc) maybe scan would be better!

My final work is presented as stickers on green, red and grey construction paper to further highlight the theme of colour-deficiency (:

Here are the 4 final pieces I have chosen!

You have demonstrated in this project that you do not mind exploring few possible approaches ( bubble wrap, hair textures, colorful glitter pastel strokes) as well as super cute drawings of animals. Your concept is strong -now we need to decide how to multiply and even more exaggerate - maybe to remove or reduce some elements that are not working ( like the white borders)..It might be good idea to stick with your theme for the rest of sem and you revise your drawings even further for the final zine project on animals and colors? SIMPLE ADVICE FOR PAGE MAKE UP: In this final page SUMMARY on project you need to include: - brief one sentence description what is your concept-super short! -CAPTION for each image : "My name is ...and I am...." (No.1 is not enough -we will not be searching back to your process to find out what each image means) so THIS page has to have A hierarchy- an arrangement of items in which the images are represented not only as being "above," "below," or "at the same level as" one another but also what they mean- CAPTION or TITLE HEADING. IN CLASS: we can address the final ZINE project as well as The Point Of View project
