@ Rene

I started off by drawing the designs of the silhouette that I would like to use. I have chosen to cut up up cities like Singapore, Beijing, India and Sydney.

These are the pieces that were cut up.

I proceeded to make the drain cover which i chose cardboard as my material to do so. Specifically, Read more →

@ Rene

I wanted to doing something out of the box for this project. I do not want it to be a mainstream concept  or point of view that people had done before.

Then I started generating some ideas on the point of views I might go with. Suddenly, the idea of using the point of Read more →

Mostly pictures of the process~

The paper cuts was the easy part, and the first things I completed. Also because I need the silhouette to know which part of the city I want for it to show through~

Then, starting on the illustrations.. It looked intimidating but… well, it was. @@

But I’d like to think it Read more →

Extra because about none of this shows up in my final work X”D

Some sort of very simple animation sequence key-frames because I did briefly consider animating my project for a bit.. Probably over ambitious as later confirmed >A<

Because I was using pen and watercolor, and also because I am always influenced by music videos due to interest and past experiences… I Read more →

From the beginning:

The initial brainstorming for this project worked out quite well for me.

Although I was a bit apprehensive that the “city” might be an overdone concept, I was inevitably drawn to the idea due to I think it’s significance to me, personally… Having migrated when I was younger and thereafter always wanting to Read more →

@ Eureka!

At a later stage in the project, I wanted a splash of Korean words to further emphasise my main subject which are K-Pop idols.

This is an example of how my pieces would look like. I want to use Korean to describe the photo instead of English.

This is another example of how I would like Read more →

@ Eureka!

When I first got to know about this project, I wanted to talk about K-Pop idols. They may seem very glamorous and perfect on the outside but is that really what is happening behind the scenes?

@ Eureka!

The following images are my final pieces for this project.

1.

POV from entertainment company

(The entertainment often view idols as money making machines and do not really care about their views. Idols have no say in which shows they want to do or not and are blinded by the entertainment company’s direction.)

POV from other idols

I definitely enjoy these on a screen more than in print! Evry element works really well on the screen and is over the top, and nicely exaggerated- full blast color and pop!
Thank you! :)

@ JULIANA

These are my final six A5 works for Point Of View for alcohol.

Alcohol from the point of view of troubled people is escape. How I chose to portray this point of view was that the bottle of the alcohol would be a shelter or hideout from the problems of the outside world, such as stress, anxiety and other issues. These Read more →
