We did lots of work towards our final project these past two weeks!

Visuals

I created photoshopped scenes so that our concept is more visually understandable.

Firstly I made one for the Deepavali theme as this is our main focus, and a relevant event as it occurred just recently. These images are to highlight how people could interact with the projection (by touching the Read more →

@ My_site

This weeks’ work have been to compose the short film by making a storyboard. We created the storyboard by asking ourselves:

who is the audience of the film What content do we need to show what elements/pictures/film shots do we have and what do we still need to produce

Overall, we decided to structure the short film in 3 main sections listed below:

We had a meeting and sorted through the film footage and stills and created a storyboard of how we want the video to go.

From this we decided which images/video would go where and also produced a script of the different scenes to show which text will be visible on screen as well as give a description as to what Read more →

@ Hanna UX Design

We filmed at Dhoby Ghaut as its a busy interchange station and visited by lots of people. We want to put our project into busy stations and target the larger hubs in order for it to be seen by lots of people.

We discovered theres lots of empty spaces and plain walls which would be ideal for our projections.

@ My_site

At this weeks’ lecture we presented the idea about bringing local culture into the MRT.

Feedback & considerations according to the project:

How do we secure people move through the areas with out any obstructions? Bringing in interactive screens can counteract how people move through space Need to specify areas to the client (MRT operators, government) Might be a challenge with motion sensors when there Read more →

We think the Deepavali Festival will be a good example for us to use to present our concept as it is current and so bright and colourful! The main motifs and symbols are the oil light/lanterns and peacocks.

Before the lecture Monday 17/10/16 we had decided upon following aspects of our project idea:

Framing of problem We want to activate dead spaces in the MRT to draw people’s attention and make them interact with the wall instead of using their mobile phones when the walk through the MRT.

On the same time we believe it can have a positive Read more →

Good examples and the storyboard you created is a good start.  It seems there is a lot more interactive displays of the kind you're developing at airports.  Why might that be?  What are the similarities and differences in user experience at airports vs. MRT (amount of time spent at airport is longer, more leisure or wait time).  So airports can exploit the amount of time users spend there and provide alternative experiences.  How would you exploit the kind of activity users have at the MRT for your project?
