@ signs/symbols

In this project, we were tasked to create a ‘get well soon’ card for Ng Teng Fong hospital. It had to have some element of either die-cut or 3D attribute to it. For me, my card wasn’t really developed quickly and started my concept off an image that I saw in the past.

It was an illustration of a cat holding Read more →

@ fiefyefoefum

After the second rounds of feedback, I mainly worked on tweaking the graphic elements e.g. the position to keep the mechanism secure, the colour to ensure proper contrast in printing, text kerning, placement and size to ensure higher readability. For the paper stock, I went with a slightly textured, matte card as I like how the paper created a warmer Read more →

@ fleong005

The final designs for assignment 3 are as below:

There were certain challenges that I faced along the way which I feel helped me grow as a designer. Some of the challenges and solutions are as below:

Designing the folds before imagery. Also thinking that folds had to be extremely elaborate for it to look nice which isn’t the case. A simple Read more →

@ desiree ng

A character resembling the Jurong Health logo slowly peels open the cover page, revealing a part of a rainbow. The cover page reads “It’s about taking the right steps”, relating to both what’s inside the card and the journey of recovery for the patient. Opening the page shows the well wishes from the NTF staff, and corresponding visuals. Unfold the Read more →

@ Charmaine Villamin

I am quite happy with how my work turned out. My goal for this project was that if I was patient, would I be happy to receive this card? And I think I would be, so I succeeded in the regard. However, the craftsmanship definitely needs work. If I had more time, I would have chosen a different type of Read more →

@ Project

When given this project, I was actually quite excited, since it would be a project that is more tangible for the viewer. We were tasked to work with paper and to make it interactive in the form of a card, that could potentially be given to hospital patients to aid their recovery.

With this in mind, I started doing research on different Read more →

@ X_Tian

I spent a lot of time to redraw the character. At first, I came out with the illustration of a young girl and she looked lack of experience so I set myself to redraw a nurse probably she is above 35 years old which is the nurse has been used in my final. Putting the wishing text inside the heart Read more →

Project 3: Get Well Card {a thousand well wishes!}

@ now[here] yet no[where]

What would someone being released from the hospital like to see? Apparently, something that isn’t extravagant, because they’ve got a hospital bill to pay. So the goal of this project is budget-consciousness! Even so, it’s important that the card conveys the hospital’s wishes for the patient’s recovery. I’d also like for the card to be packed full of well wishes Read more →

The Final Work…Get well soon…

Changes that I made using the feedback are as follows:

The outside(back and partially the front which is the fold) is made to look like a simple canvas material bandage like texture.. There are some hint of colours almost like drops of wet diffusing water colours, with the colour spreading. The Read more →

@ summer dreamers

brief: explore visual communication on a single page and layout composition on multiple folds of a single sheet

to conceptualise a get well wishing card for proposal to ng teng fong hospital

I was mainly looking at Japanese designs which are simple, minimal, clean but creative and sophisticated. Some of them have clever ways of playing with folds, which are very straightforward yet Read more →
