Based on a 2006 feature-length documentary film, Black Gold, directed and produced by Marc Francis and Nick Francis, and co-produced by Christopher Hird.
The story follows the efforts of an Ethiopian Coffee Union manager as he travels the world to obtain a better price for his workers’ coffee beans. It touches on issues like economical growth, economical disparity and livelihood issues in the developing world for coffee farmers.
A little bit of self-reflection.

On the court, in the pool, or out on the field. Such exuberance and energy packed in every stroke you pull. Each movement marks a dance on the court; a painting of grit and grace in your inexorable quest for perfection.
– PHOWM SPORTS
For all simplicity and complexity, PHOWM aims to record movement as a work of Art.
Bluetooth connects the sensor to the computer and data visualisation can be seen on screen.
An athlete’s movement, intangible energy that disappears as quickly as it generates, can thus be translated into and recorded as a wispy animation on screen.
Because who can resist a splash of water?
After much trial and experimentation, certain changes were made to the final garment for better aesthetics.
