metaphor – veiled (process + execution)

cloth, the threshold that blinds worlds. how do we communicate in this blindness? the screen to which we communicate through with others. blank, without words this time but through our voice.

stage, the entrance into another realm, another dimension. stepping onto the stage, one opens the app to go into to communicate.

light, the lighting up of the screen as one types, constantly going on and off at times.

bell, the audio notification signalling the arrival of a message on the screen.

binary, the code which is used in messaging that is constantly packaged and unpackaged into words. even through words we may end up misinterpreting them or create miscommunication; choosing to speak only in binary therefore allows for more confusion and disassociation.

these segments are linked together to explore how communication involves the entirety and not just a singular factor to which technology only engages one or two at a time; a physical manifestation of a digital texting service. the removal of the human presence creates this disconnection for the viewers who knows that there is someone that is behind the screen but yet is unable to decipher the words nor carry the intended emotions or expressions across.
