In class, I shared a story about powerlessness. In many species, we could see powerlessness manifest into their culture and community. Since my projects strives to let one group understand the other, I hope that my FYP project could be a voice for an individual, a group, a community or even species of animal that are experiencing difficulty times.
Here are some of the topics I am interested in and also worried about:
This topic may sound far fetched but with the current rate of how technology development and environmental destruction is going, Anthropocene isn’t just a concept any more. Anthropocene is an informal term that marks the evidence and extent of human activities that have had a significant global impact on the Earth’s ecosystems.
The Anthropocene defines Earth’s most recent geologic time period as being human-influenced, or anthropogenic, based on overwhelming global evidence that atmospheric, geologic, hydrologic, biospheric and other earth system processes are now altered by humans.
(The word combines the root “anthropo”, meaning “human” with the root “-cene”, the standard suffix for “epoch” in geologic time.)
Marine life (their organic form)
With more than 70% of earth’s surface being ocean, marine life reflects on the health of Earth. From documentaries and exhibitions (such as the Oceanic), I am quite convinced that we are going down hill.
Are we developing towards comfort for individuals? or are we developing towards a cause for the whole of humanity? I personally believe the former.
It is quite an irony that our previous generation blames our generation for many negative aspects. But in the first place, they created the society our generation lives in. I am just curious what will future generations think about us? and what are our impacts on them?
