DN1002 – Assignment 3 – Ego – Colour theories and harmonies

After going through 2 assignments based exclusively on black and white (and greyscale), it’s refreshing to be able to work on something in colour!

As this is something new for the module, it is definitely important to understand the usage of colours to ensure our work stands out.

Colour harmonies

Complementary – the use of colours opposite each other on the colour wheel

Color Wheel with complementary color scheme

Analogous – the use of colours located next to each other on the colour wheel

Triad – the use of three colours evenly spaced on the colour wheel

Split Complementary – variation of the Complementary arrangement, similar but with lesser tension
