We had mark making workshop 2 weeks ago .
We concentrate mostly on using rollers, the first thing I did was to learn how to the basics.
So the first I did was to roll an even black square.
It was not as easy as I thought it would be, I mean I thought we just had to roll. But I found that knowing the right pressure made things easier.
It was after that did I experiment with applying paint to the roller in different
I proceed to slap paint on the roller to make it as uneven as possible.
And I ended up with an organic looking mark. Worth 10, 000 I would say. xD
Afterwards I added other handmade mark making tools such as sponge and wires to add more interesting marks.
By this time I think I was rather tired and wanted to fill the paper with marks. Hence I wet my already dirty hands and fling the water towards to the paper.
I also started to scrunch up the paper, it was like a way to stress relieve.
It was indeed fun. Although I do believe the marks I made can be express as other emotions, it mostly represented frustration and restlessness.
We also tried mono printing and lino printing. Not much was spent on it, but for mono printing I created designs using toothpicks.
