I went for consultation last week and apparently I still sees shapes as it is instead of viewing them in a group.
They should be more like this some what.
Also, I should do my light test or compositions in small sizes so it is easier to see the whole image. Instead of trying to render one whole page of light test. I was trying to test out pastel in class but somehow it turned out not bad. Woonlam also said that I could submit that but together with another piece perhaps with a different composition because that piece of paper is actually smaller in size compared to the required.
For the colours, I tried using all the browns and maybe some purple for both of the composition.
The first composition
I should probably try to pick different subject and shine the lights in them instead of doing them all at the same time. The lighting could have bigger surface area for a particular but none for another.
As for the second composition, I honestly that the composition looks okay in my sketchbook. It did not look that empty but once I put it out on the big paper, somehow all the spaces look so awkward and empty like there is barely any environment.
I honestly had fun with this assignment, to be able to test out a medium I have not try before (pastel) and also gaining new techniques from it even thought my final pieces did not go as planned. I also have a fear of drawing on big pieces of paper since they will enlarge the mistakes. However, the more I draw on big pieces of paper I have grown to accept them and also of course learn the mistakes from those previous class activities.
