Perfect Pitch

Hello, It’s me again.

For this week, our task is to prepare three (3) potential idea-topics as part of the ‘perfect pitch’ assignment.
As mentioned/presented last week, my first 2 ideas are:

  1. For the individual project, I am thinking of doing a project that can bring attention to the environmental issues associated with plastic bags.

It will be an installation of plastic bags, where the idea is to show how plastic bags with colorful, eye-catching advertising are appealing at first but eventually begin looking decrepit when dumped in the trash and left to decompose.

2) For the pair project, I am gonna go with the idea of ‘ The rain room’ that I uploaded previously as one of the 50 shades project.

The Rain Room is a 100 square metre field of falling water which visitors are invited to walk into. Sensors detect where visitors are standing, and the rain stops around them, giving them an experience of how it might feel to control the rain.

This project might be the one that ‘break the boundaries’ and I expect it to be expensive as well.

3) Develop one duo project idea- Moving Garbage

My idea is to create an interactive wall-mounted Installation mainly made out of ordinary garbage bags. Controlled by a microcontroller each of them is selectively inflated and deflated in turn by two cooling fans. (Picture shown below)
Budget and list of items will be included in the WBS.

For each of the three projects:

I did a simple WBS on a piece of paper. I welcome feedbacks! 🙂

hello cindy! Nice work with the WBS! i think it would be good if you can add the rough estimate price of the budget onto the paper as well. then it would make perfect sense. I think your rain room idea is very brilliant but i do not think ADM is a good place. I imagine it to be a bigger space! Like one huge gallery space would make the experience much more interesting!

Now I see that you had actually prepared work breakdown structures! You should definitely include that in your presentation (why not yesterday??). For next occasion, in two weeks, it will be required that presentations are supported with WBS, timeline (could be Gantt chart) and budget, so it’s great that you’ve already gotten started.

I had to double check what you wrote earlier abt the ‘plastic bags’… This is very doable as FYP, don’t give it up. Though the Internet-pillow is a potential entrepreneurship hit…
