Brainstorm:
In my concept of Quantum Entanglement, I felt 运气 or 运气旋转 would work well. This phrase is also often said by my mom at work too so I think it adds meaning to my poster. I wanted to use ethereal and celestial colours to represent a bigger force at work when it comes to “LUCK”. I also wanted to add swirling effects in my poster to represent the idea of Entanglement itself. It’s random and unreadable, but forms a shape that plays a bigger part in our world. Afterwards, I doodled a bunch of ideas for my posters in my sketchbook. There were a few that I ended up wanting to develop more on.
I decided to use my logo in my poster as I thought that it would feel more cohesive as a whole project on my take on Quantum Entanglement.
MOODBOARD:
From my moodboard, I really liked the calm colours as well as some examples of swirling patterns that I plan to create in photoshop. I also really enjoy some of the Chinese typography at play. The circle shapes intrigued me too and I decided to play with that as my ladybug logo is somewhat similar in shape.
Explorations:
I did some really rough designs on photoshop just to see how the composition, typography and colours work together in a poster. I played with symmetry, activating the diagonal, and overwhelming the eye, focusing the eye and assaulting the surface . At this stage, I couldn’t really find suitable chinese typefaces so there were some designs without my title yet. I preferred the dark colour scheme from these tests so I shortlisted a few roughs and began to refine them more! I also had to look for better chinese typefaces.
