The primary goal of Open Source Studio (OSS) has been to establish a sustainable online learning platform that can serve the full spectrum of artistic, educational, and research activity in the School of Art, Design, and Media, as well as other Schools at NTU. Future plans of OSS include the establishment of the OSS Consortium, envisioned as a global network of media arts educators and students, an inter-institutional open source platform for collaborative learning, research, and project-based initiatives.

With the potential of organising and promoting online educational networks in the international media arts community, it is our intent to expand OSS as a learning and teaching WordPress environment that transcends institutional, geographic and cultural boundaries. We envision OSS as a platform for hosting international studio classes, seminars, symposia, an environment for online creative dialogue and critique, and a distributed network for staging collaborative online projects that expose students to perspectives across diverse cultures.
