This workspace is built for workaholics which need some convenience in their life. As a matter of irony, their laziness may not be rewarded when certain commands are mentioned. By simply putting the item you wish to partake into the holder, the robotic arms moves around and serves when you mention a command found in the list. Accompanied with the robot hand is a voice activated table lamp, which displays different colours according to your command.
Refresher on what our project is about- Adding on to the voice-operated drink holder, we decided to expand in terms of our devices, to create an entire smart workstation. We thought that a voice-operated light would be helpful in a smart workstation and thus we created/completed the LED Light.
Progress:
Completion of mini-arm and the code
Completion of LED light
Steps next to final: Assemble to proper sized drink holder and assemble the lamp
Mini-arm (Servo Prototype)
Currently the code works, it responds to commands but it is a little robotic
Thus we are going to modify the code to make it more human-like and cheeky
LED Light
We are done with the coding of the LED, it responds to voices well except when there are pronunciation errors
We just need to assemble it into the lamp and we will be completed with this
Violet Plus by Ultra: UV Ray and Vitamin D Tracker
A wearable device (clip-on) that tracks an individual’s sun exposure, monitoring both exposure/overexposure to sun’s harmful rays and also monitoring vitamin D levels. It works in conjunction with app that not just reflects the information, but also allow uses to select their skin type. Henceforth, sun damage alerts/sunscreen reminders will be personalized to wearer. It will let you know if you need to top up, a distinct advantage if you’re prone to vitamin D deficiencies.
In conjunction with the app
The device is a miniature clip-on, thus it is immensely portable and convenient
It can also be used without the app – the device will light up to indicate how long more the user has before being sun burnt, plus it uses vibrations to remind the users to apply sunscreen when the time is up.
How it works
Pros
Very lightweight and convenient
Seamlessly integrated to app
Differentiate from other UV trackers – with added vitamin D tracker
Future of beauty wearables
Cons
Accuracy of the device not as proven
Suggestions
Fitness activity trackers/Smart watches can incorporate this technology, as wearers who exercise outdoors might want to be aware of their sun exposure
Ultra might want to look into other functions so that it is not so specific to UV – e.g. anti-pollution detector
