The idea of this exercise is to use a controller – which is the gyroscope in this case, to ’tilt’ the sound to a side or a corner in the direction of the controller.

Using Max Msp and the Teabox set, it was possible to do so and also with jit.rota, we are able to rotate a video file that corresponds to the gyroscope’s movement.

However, the signal from the gyroscope translated to decibels was not very effective to show a smooth gradation of sound. Thus, we are introduced to table in Max. This allows us to alter the volume of the sound such that the transition is smoother.
