Device for the week: Hiody

Hiody is a hooded jacket with a music player embedded in it.

The speakers are embedded into the hood and the controls are above the pocket, and a 3.5mm audio jack in the pocket. This enables the users to plug in their phone/music player to play their music through the jacket.

Quite simple controls to play and stop the music (single press), forward (double press), and rewind (triple press) your music playlist.

What’s great about it:
– cordless – hassle free from entanglement
– embedded speaker – no strain to the ears, more comfort in listening to music
– accessibility – pocket to store phone/music player, controls just above pocket

What could be improved:
-control interface – button tap/press may be difficult to control the different functions of the music player.

It is interesting to integrate something like a earpiece function into the hooded jacket. Taking something that we do or use on a daily basis like a music player and integrating that device to something we will always have on outside. Be it our clothes or items like glasses, belts or maybe accessories.
