“Forest Gump” Project Inspiration

Hey y’all,

So for this project, I chose the movie MAD MAX: FURY ROAD! Sucha great movie:)) It was one of my fav movies of 2015. It has great themes, interesting characters, great cinematography and my oh myyyyy, the OST!!! So great. Anyway, if you have not watched it, please do. I have attached some visual references of the movie just below. mad-max-fury-road-2015-36412

The movie quotes I have decided on are:

  1. We are not things https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slTH9lFJjKU
  2. Witness me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KlSuGNt8e4
  3. I live. I die. I live again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHJnE4H0idQ

(**YAYYYYYY! I found links for all my quotes** You can watch themt to get a rough sense of what the movie is about)

To me, these were very memorable quotes and scenes from the movie. However, it was a little tough at the beginning coming out with a concept because all I could think of were literal and directly from the movie. I am not somebody who can think really abstract so it was a little challenging. And while thinking of the quotes, the scenes from the movie just kept replaying. I was stuck. But I was doing some research and came across something super interesting.

This was a fanart that I found online, which was reallllyyyyy interesting.

I started thinking through some of the themes from the movie and decided that YES! I can reimagine this in terms of ancient egypt.

I could see it working because for example the quote “I LIVE. I DIE. I LIVE AGAIN” — This had the concept of rebirth which was something the egyptians believed in (life after death).

Hence, I started looking for images for this project.
