Interactive Narrative: Progress of the board

I decided to make the map more realistic to fit the over all look and feel of the design. However, I maintained the orange drop shadow on the design elements causing the design to look a little out of place.

I decided to change the drop shadow to match the current map so that they will seem to blend well together with the map.

As the board game involves cards, I decided to add card placements to make it part of the game after speaking to some of my friends.

SG Cultural Festivals: map mock up

SG Cultural Festival board game map

To be able to know how the map would look like, I did a rough sketch up of it with different colour markers to indicate what it is. The background would be a Singapore map since this is about Singapore cultural festivals.

Yellow represents the information about the cultural festivals or myths. Blue represents the food eaten, pink represents the decorations displayed or hang and green represents the traditional costumes worn.

Gameplay:

Each player will be allocated a character based on their draw and different characters will be allocated a certain amount of coins. Each player will take turns to roll the dice. When a player lands on a coloured spot, he will draw the card with the colour as the board.

For the yellow dot, the player only can only draw only one card to get to know the information of the festival.

For the blue, pink and green dot, the player can pick three cards. From the three cards, the player will choose one card to purchase from. The remaining two cards will be returned to the bottom of the deck.
As different characters have different ranks, the highest ranks would have to pay 5 coins more, the middle ranks would have to pay 2 coins more and the lowest ranks would just need to pay as stated.

The game will continue till everyone reaches the finish line.

The winner is determined by having the most number of points from the cards that he/ she collected. If in a situation there is a tie between two or more players, the player with cards of the most variations will win.
