This hyperessay will discuss the concept of interactivity through analysing Ryoji Ikeda’s performance art “superposition”, specifically how it is a form of behavioural and cybernetic art, and where entropy and multiple levels of experience comes into play.
“superposition” is a synergetic 65-minute performance between human and machine, about “the way we understand the reality of nature on an atomic scale.” 1
Ryoji Ikeda sensei is a contemporary visual-sound artist who creates immersive installations out of fast-flashing raw data reacting to ear-piercing sound frequencies.
