Meta Project: Authority (wk2)

Meta Project: Authority

One might wonder where the concept of power came from. Surely you’d have questioned by now, how did we derive to the concept of studying to get abilities. Surely since we were not born as such, our ancestors could not have developed such concepts and powers without gaining any knowledge.

The legend goes that when Adam ate of the fruit of knowledge, something happened. With this new found knowledge, Adam found that he could do things he couldn’t do before. At first he thought he had been possessed, but he soon learned how to control his new found ability. He being the first man God created, became the first man to have all the power in the world, just from gaining a little knowledge. He had the ability to do anything he wanted all based on his imagination.

A thousand years forward, man has refined their abilities. They have learned to develop and grow their knowledge over the centuries and unlocked many hidden secrets behind what they have learned and what they could do in their abilities. But too much knowledge and power leads to destruction.

Wars broke out all over the place. Either due to petty arguments between the lords of different castles or due to the pride of men. The First Crusade that started in 1905 was the biggest clash that man had ever scene, resulting in bloodshed of thousands and thousands.

Because of that, it was decided that the power and abilities man possessed was too great a responsibility for people. How then could they contain this? Since knowledge was the key to man gaining power, education would be what was used to contain it. Thus the world leaders started Universities, institutes of higher learning, to limit the number of people who had abilities. The leaders created a higher Authority which they now call the United Nations that controls the education young ones have. The first venture that they had was the University of Oxford.

So that brings us back to where I am today, getting my ability of controlling the element of fire after studying so long.
