4D | Scavenger Photo Hunt

Hey guys, here’s my first class activity in which we were to take photos in NTU to express the given titles.

1

1. Something that is not “NTU” at all

It’s a Pidgey! Currently, the Pokemon GO craze is going on and of course, a Pokemon is not NTU at all. I did not ever expect to be catching a Pokemon in NTU, much less for Pokemon Go to be created. And Pokemon Go is a really genius idea.

2. Somebody not studying in NTU

As you can see, it’s another bird! A bird is technically not studying in NTU, and it’s just casually chilling on our rooftop. So I guess I got that right 😉

3

3. Somebody studying in NTU

She totally has the total campus packaging going on with the scooter (which is a real hot trend right now) and the backpack. So I’m sure she’s a student!

4. Useless image you see.

There’s this concrete signage which is quite rundown and you can’t really see the information on it, which I feel is quite pointless. A signage is meant to provide information not to have missing information!

5

5. Useful image you see

I am quite bad at directions so I rely a lot on signages and wayfinders, hence this piece of metal is really useful to me! Comparing with the other countries that I’ve been too, I feel that Singapore has the BEST wayfinders because the signges are always so visible and clear to the naked eye.

6. Nature

It was a coincidence to find a feather on the grass which reminded me of a natural habitat and a sense of wilderness. To me, Nature is not all about forests and plants. Nature is about life in general, which includes the animal diversity.

7

7. Urban Nature

To me, urban nature is when our city coexists with nature together, “happily”. Hence, this is a negative picture of urban nature. As everyone should know, we should not litter as it’s an issue for the environment.

8. Urban

These are good examples about urban as solar panels are something that we’ve built to contribute to our city by using green energy for electricity.

9. Singapore

When I saw this, I knew it was Singapore as the poster consists of more than a language. I thought that it has 4 languages on it but lets just assume it has English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Singapore is a multi-racial country and normally, our posters would consists of all 4 languages as we’ve to think of other races who are living with us as well.

10. A place where art is shown.

I didn’t know we had an ADM gallery, but now I know.

11

11. A place where art is made.

The toilet. I’m sure you guys get it! Lets be honest here, how many of you actually has the Eureka! moment in the cubicle while doing your business? So yeah, this is where art is made.

12

12. A photograph with a faculty

I didn’t know a faculty is a being not a building. But yeah, here’s me with School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

13

13. A photograph that shows what Earth Observatory of Singapore may be about

What I deduce from “Earth Observatory of Singapore” is an organisation/research group that studies and observes our Earth climate, natural disasters and more. So that’s how I got about to take a picture of our lovely blue sky, as our sky is the Earth.

2D | Mark Making Tools

How can something so innocent cause extreme mind bending kind of pain? Using lego bricks or nanoblocks will be really cool as I can make use of all four sides of it and imprint the studs or textures.

An everyday household item – cling wrap, that my lovely mom uses in her kitchen. I’m curious to see what will the outcome be if I were to scrunch/move it whilst the paint is still wet.

Love,
Jacelyn
