Final Esmeralda

The City of Esmeralda

Have you ever traveled to the City of Esmeralda?

Let me tell you what I have discovered in that invisible city…

Esmeralda is a city filled with all sorts of mysterious creatures, with different jobs and characteristic. If you ever have a chance to explore the City of Esmeralda, remember that different zones in Esmeralda come with different rules and cultures. While some zones are open to the public, many are marked as protected and you are not allowed to enter without permission. Beware of where you are going and who you talk to. Some places and creatures are extremely dangerous.

I have recorded down what I have encountered during the journey and hope that it can help you to navigate and be more aware of what is going on in the City of Esmeralda.

Esmeralda are divided into several zones and indicated in the map is the method to travel to each zones.

After traveling to each zones in Esmeralda, I have recorded how each of them looked like on a postcard and jotted down what I have encountered at the back of each postcard.

姻缘红线 The Red Thread of Fate

姻缘红线 [Red Thread of Fate]

The red thread of fate originated from East Asian belief. It is believed that two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, they will meet each other regardless of the distance, time and circumstance. The red thread of fate may stretch or tangle but can never break.

To me, a book is a symbolism of red thread of fate, by picking up this particular book, opening and reading the content, out of billions of others, is because there is a binding force linking us together as we are fated to meet. Just like how we are destined to meet that one person, our another half, out of 7.6 billion of others.

My book is a wedding invitation, illustrating a story of how two predestinated lover connected with the red thread of fate came to meet each other regardless of their distance and differences.

A red thread is weaved through every page, with elements they have in common, hanging on the thread symbolizing the journey of fate bringing them closer to each other, one step at a time, until they came to meet each other and finally tying the knot.

Healtea Final

About
Everyone loves bubble tea due to its taste; refreshing sweetness and chewy texture. A survey was conducted to find out how much Singaporeans know about bubble tea and how many cups of bubble tea they drink on a weekly basis. Results showed that Singaporeans are over-consuming bubble tea and are unaware of the consequence, which included diabetes, kidney damages and cancer.

Having been alert to this problem, I decided to bring forward my project by working on a healthy bubble tea brand where only healthy ingredients are used.

Healtea, a healthy bubble tea which heals people.

The research, result of the survey and the comparison between Healtea and bubble tea are being presented in the form of a menu.

Many Bubble tea store uses powdered creamer, condensed milk and sugar which are unhealthy for the consumer. Hence for Healtea, we will be provided various healthy choices for the consumer to choose from such as different type of milk, sugar and toppings. The benefit of each choices are stated in the menu to educate our consumer. Arrowroots are also being used to replace tapioca pearls to maintain it’s chewy texture but with lower sugar level and higher amount of vitamin.

Normal Bubble tea store usually uses plastic cup and straw which is not recyclable and it also contains chances of leaching chemical into the drink. Hence Healtea uses glass cup and metal straw which is recyclable and safer.

By purchasing healtea’s tumbler, member will be able to receive discount off their drink, which helps to cut down on plastic wastage and also helps to build on consumer habit of bringing their own containers around.

Stress Level

Week 8-9: How stress am I?
This 2 weeks activity is to tracking my stress level. It is a perfect time to track this subject as we are having our recess week and right after recess week is when all of our assignment are due.

I categories it into several sections including my mood, the reason I am being stressed, the timeline from 1 week before recess week to after recess week and how emergency the situation are.

1 week before recess week is the period of time where I need to go for my Internship interview hence I am feeling slightly happy and anxious.

During recess week is when everything started to escalate, it entered into the purple zone where I felt nervous and anxious as I am getting closer to the dateline of my assignment and feeling sense of emergency. This is the point where my stress up shot up.

Tracking Wastage

Week 7: Tracking of Wastage
This week activity is to track the amount of wastage within a week, including the wastage of Food, Paper, Battery, Ez-line card fees and also Time and Energy.

The reasons of wastage are stated beside the wastage, telling a story of how it is being “wasted”.

Example of a story:
Wastage of my handphone battery: I tended to waste a lot of my handphone battery during my trip to school by using social media, listening to music and texting my friends. This also lead to the wastage of my energy, as I could have sleep during the 1.5hours trip to school, but I decided to spend it on social media instead.

Week 6: Social Media, When am I online?
This week activity is to track the amount of time which I am on social media. Usually when I am travelling or in school, I will be on Instagram, Whatsapp and sometimes on Snapchat. However, when I reached home, youtube will be running for most of the time.

This willow tree represents my tree of social media, with a mini weird creature sitting in the middle of the tree (me). The branches branched out from the laptop and hanging on the branches is the social media data.
