Below is a general intro to the society of After Light.
Skip to after the break for more on the occupations and culture in After Light, information on the Exorcists, the Ghouls, the Guardians and the government.
THE AFTER LIGHT SOCIETY
Once the sun sets and the city lights are lit, the supernatural community of Singapore comes to life.
In general, the supernatural society of Singapore reflects Singaporean society in the day, just stranger. From rave clubs for the dead and service agencies offering the Dead help dealing with unresolved matters to supernatural businesses, soul brokers and agents who deal contracts with Hell, the nocturnal supernatural community is as bustling as day time Singapore.
Aside from legitimate supernatural establishments, the local After Light community also consists of shady extremist groups such as Exorcists (Awakened who are extremely prejudiced against the Dead) and Ghouls (Dead who wreak havoc by possessing or killing the living and Awakened).
Law and order is enforced by Guardians, representatives from Heaven and Hell. Aside from ensuring that Awakened and Dead extremists do not go out of hand, their general job involves ensuring that normal living “muggles” are not aware ofAfter Light’s existence.
After Light is set in an alternate modern day Singapore. When the sun goes down, the dead rises.
