Before using Adobe Connect for live web-conferencing, I recommend reviewing the following technical specifications to insure that the online experience is seamless and without interruption:

  • Laptop: Most of the time, faculty and students will be using a Macbook Pro or other Apple laptop computer. If any of the participants are using a PC, or a computer with external Webcam, you may run into issues beyond the scope of this user manual. It is best to consult the Adobe Connect Support pages below if you there are technical issues not covered.
  • Webcam, Microphone & Headphones: Each computer will generally have a built-in Webcam and microphone, which is standard on today’s laptop and desktop computers. It is advised that all participants have headphones or earbuds available in case there is audio feedback. If the Adobe Connect configurations are setup properly, you may not need headphones.
  • Bandwidth: It is crucial that all participants have a stable Internet connection, ethernet or wireless. The minimum requirement is 2 Mbps download speed over 1/2 Mbps upload speed. It is advised to have all participants check their connection before using Adobe Connect. This can be done by running an online test at Speedtest.net. The figure below shows my connection running at 20.65 over 4.45.
