Premise

The story is about an old, dying and obese male cat that tries to regain the attention of his owner, who has recently acquired a virtual pet, in the form of a hologram, controlled using a device. The new pet can do tricks the old cat cannot, and requires less care, winning the affection of his owner. As a result, the old cat faces a risk of neglect, and tries to overcome this through various methods such as: treating his owner better, attacking and even fighting with the virtual pet, and attempting to get rid of the pet. However, the old cat fails to earn back the love of his owner, and is completely replaced by the virtual pet, resulting in him being thrown out.
