To continue my final projects , I’ll use google map as a platform (recommended by Randall)

 

Every  week  I have to post videos and stories text into media & performance website page ; not only can I collect more material from my friends , but also give me some time to add more stories into each clips.

 

Corresponded to my hyper essay one # reportage blog , my exchange friends are my reporters worldwide , so we can learn different 10 stories from severals countries . But , as an project – maker , I have to do more to complete my work .

 

Hence , besides clipping videos from my friends (involved simple caption to explain each part of one material), I want to interview my friends about further experience they underwent in their journey.

 

Totally , the whole work will present as a kind of huge collective and cooperative  work , and it will be performed via google map , a special function ,called “my maps” .

 

Just simple click the mouse , we can enjoy precious first hand video and introduction about their trip because I link the video (all of them have to be put into youtube) and text (I have already written in my pages ) into the right location of maps ; finally , it looks like stars scattering in the  world sky.

   Hello~ I, m Pei Sheng, Huang , reporter of  Malaysia, Johor Bahru . Now , it was evening but there were crowded with numerous people for witnessing once a year , Chingay Parade, which means “real art” in Hokkien ; also known as the Parade of Deities . This activity will host for 4 days  ,Lunar New Year of 18th to 21th  Jan (after traditional Chinese New Year), but parade merely at the night of 20th  .

 

  Traced back its origin,JB Chinese Temple Festival , except for proud of JB Chinese community, it contains more important meaning, combined Malaysian Chinese together. During the 20s or 30sera, different dialect groups were almost like different races, it turned out that via holding common festival , 5 dialect group, Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka and Hainan, can live with each other harmonically .

 

   In the process of parade ,you will find there are lots of  Chinese culture elements combined with local habits ,such as lion/dragon/tiger dances, Chinese clowns, beautifully decorated floats,martial arts troupes, huge Chingay flags ,playing the drums.

 

   And then , people will continuously  shout of “Huat” and “Heng” which roughly means good fortune.Thousands of devotees with joss stick in their hands will be walking past together with the parade. 

 

 It’s  fortunate for me to stay in my friends coffee to overlook most of parade , and participated in parade for one hour , it was a really amazing experience !
