Welcome to Dismaland

Dismaland is an pop up art exhibition located in the UK created by the artist Banksy. The artist explores themes such as apocalypse, anti-consumerism, as well as pointed social critiques on celebrity culture, immigration, and law enforcement. This grim them park capturing a warped vision of ideal happiness.

  1. I really like this work by Banksy actually! It is very interesting as Banksy is trying his hand on other medium as well. Other than Banksy, it also feature other artists as well and I like this idea of creating a space specifically for a theme exhibition.

  2. I feel the same as Kamarul! I’ve always been intrigued by the works of Banksy, and particularly the dark humour he brings into his work. I like how the whole atmosphere of the theme park was planned out, and wish I would be able to see it for myself one day if it ever happens again!

  3. This project was particularly fascinating to me, as an avid lover of themed parks and Disney in general … What Banksy and his team had done really brought “a whole new world” to the once happy side of Disneyland, showcasing the flaws of our society instead. Some parts of me still feel unease with the negative tones of the project, especially the installation piece of the refugees on a boat. It is a wake up call targeted to us, fortunate people. Despite that, I’m sure that others feel more than delighted and lucky enough to be able to catch Banksy’s work in action!
