Does your room get cluttered with papers on the floor after a long study session? Not a problem anymore, this smart thrash can sensor and calculate where the thrash will land and move to that position. This way your room will still stay clean even after a long study session.

Make-up mirror
After discussing the concept of a smart mirror we tried to think of new ways the smart mirror could be used. One of the ideas was that the mirror could give the person in front of the mirror different make-up looks by swiping left or right.
Baidu Kuaisou – Smart chopsticks
Baidu Kuaisou is a set of smart chopsticks that can detect if food is contaminated. By pairing the chopsticks with a phone/computer you can get information about the oil in the food, if it’s good or bad. There is also a light on each chopstick that flash in different colors depending on the results.
Project BadumTisch
In the course Ubiquitous computing my group and I worked on creating solutions that could create a better study environment in group activity rooms. The solutions used sensors to get information about the environment (no explicit user interaction was needed) and the data gathered was analysed by a computer. If the sensor data reached a threshold different actuators were activated. More info can be found on this website.
Devices created:
- Smart temperature system including a smart fan.
- Automatic room lighting.
- Pen holder that sensed the weight of all pens and indicated which ones had sufficient ink left.
We also mad this (goofy) video to demonstrate our problems and the solutions:
