1D INTERACTION
Buttons
Buttons has only two options for interaction, pressing it and not. There is no flexiblity for buttons.
Charger
With a charger there is only two options for interaction, plug or unplug. There is no flexiblity for a switch as well.
Switch
With a switch there is only two options for interaction, ON or OFF.
2D INTERACTION
Window slider
With a window slider, there is two options, fully closed or fully open. There is a flexibility with the degree of the window being opened or closed.
Water bottle
With a bottle, there are two options as well, fully closed or fully open. There is a flexibility with the degree of the bottle being opened or closed.
3D INTERACTION
Wall fan
With the wall fan, there another degree of freedom, being able to adjust the fan up and down or left and right. It can also be stated that the fan has 1 ways of interaction in 1 dimension, one or off, and 2 ways of interaction in 2 dimensions, fully left or fully right, fully up or fully down. However, the interaction of adjusting where the fan faces cannot be describe dimensionally and the fan’s adjustment can also be descibed through angles (e.g. tilting towards someone diagonally around 45 degrees), giving it another degree of freedom.
Analog Sitck
The analog stick having another degree of freedom, being able to rotate to around. It can also be stated that it has 3 ways of interaction in 1 dimension as well, pressing, up or down and left or right. However similar to the wall fan, the analog stick interaction is has a flexibility through rotation in it being up or down and left or right.
WINDOWS
Games immerses the user into the fictional world through the narrative and world creation. For example, the lastest Pokemon Sword and Shield. With its stylised environment, it shows how a world would be like with the much loved pokemon.
MIRRORS
Games also allows the user to reflect themselves through character customisation. For example, using Pokemon Sword and Shield. The game allows the user to personalise their character in the game, along with character cards users are able to exchange with one another. This is a representation of themselves, further immerses them and gives them more attachment into this fictional world.
