This is a short write up after week 6 consultation, to update my design direction.
My direction now is to design a set of jewelry that go according to the stories I wrote. The design I have for now is pretty complicated and resembles the Chinese antiques. However, my next aim is to simplify the design into something more modern, and yet capture the essence of the characters and the status.
Some initial sketches:
With elaborated pattern of phoenix, peonies, in gold and acarlet, is suitable for the position of Empress Consort.
These designs are, however, too complicated for both modern aesthetics and production. So simplifying the designs and reserve the “gist and gesture” would be my next step.
