Honestly, I was inspired by Phil Wong from Wongfu productions.

Always have strong enthusiasm for something. Represented by those concentrated areas. The snail trails links and it really shows how each experiences you have and networks/relationships you forged with your colleagues/collaborators/mentors all connects. You wouldn’t know how your current experience would help the next.

I draw inspiration from my childhood in general. Positive and negative things I have encountered and make random weird shit with them.

Exploring beyond the threshold of NSFW.
I honestly second guessed the tolerance this school have to this. Only to concluded that there’s an active need to normalise and allow women to speak comfortably about this topic.
This medium really amazed me beyond words.
LOOK AT HOW THIS TORTURED, MESSY EFFECT IT GOT?! My true inspiration and research came from this hotel in Thailand my sister found.
It’s literally called “Cabbages & Condoms Restaurant”, located in Bangkok. With this in mind, I’m quite sure someday I will be able to use this medium the same way and make art. That day is today. LOLOLOLOLOL

A relatively simple post to mimic two emotions, “Grounded” and “Excitement”.
In order to achieve the woody look and feel, I researched about the texture of bark and trees. It was also crucial to achieve a sense of smell beyond the textural feel. Without having to use physical plants, coffee was the closest thing relating to the physical floral element.
Image of a tree bark at the end, in comparison with my mark. A layer of black is added for a more realistic effect.
With a similar technique. Excitement is created by adding a layer of glue and a mixure of sanded clay and earl grey tea leaves.
With the Mooncake Festival and the best of my childhood as inspiration. The medium I have chosen for this mark are traditional festival candles.

Once finished, the layer starts to accumulate into this texture.
In order to meet the “B&W” brief requirement, I placed a layer to multi-surface paint from Martha Stewart *wink* and brush it across with a sponge.
Eventually, this piece turned out quite poetic. Below all these vibrant and creative personality, it’s oppressed by a black layer representing authority.
Unlike all exploration, this has got to be the smoothest. Literally a one-hit-wonder. Not much f**k ups I can present throughout my mark making.
